About Me
From my childhood I remember looking at the images in glossy magazines and wondering whether the women within them were in some way special, born  with such a beautiful skin or whether it is something anyone could achieve…

Fifteen years on as a formally qualified make-up artist with over a decade of experience in the fashion industry I believe that the answer is very much the latter. During that time I have worked alongside a number of the foremost international make-up artists, and developed strong relationships with a number of the “gurus” (for want of a better term!) shaping the fashion-industry today. However, despite this formalised training, I retain the childlike passion for the beauty industry that developed as I turned those magazine pages in my youth!

As with any multi-billion dollar industry, a world of hype and jargon is generated to try and sell the latest product or service. However, (and at the risk of being shunned by fellow professionals) I believe that the principles of make-up are simple, namely:-

  1. Ensuring the right colours are used, which will be different for everyone depending on their complexion / face shape (despite what the adverts may suggest, colour is far more important than the products themselves).
  2. Using the right means of application (just as with cooking, getting the right ingredients only takes you so far).

I believe it really is this simple. The secret is that there is no right product, or right technique – only a right product or technique for you. I am dismayed when I see a make-up artist try to impose a look irrespective of whether it works for the individual.

I always tell my wedding clients the same thing - if you’re looking for a specific look for your big day, I can create it in a way that is unique for you! If you’re not sure what you’re looking for then we can work together to find it. Whichever approach we take, you can be assured that I will be every bit as passionate about finding the right look for the big day as you.
